Honestly I think it's just comes down to if you are millennial, in the 90s you thought anime was this cool new shit from Japan. If you're Gen X or a Boomer you saw anime and thought it was weird and off putting, or you thought some ignorant/racist/orientalist shit.

The Sega thing probably not, they were on the verge of bankruptcy before Microsoft even entered the console market. I wish they were still making consoles though.

Microsoft has never understood the games industry. Honestly I don't think they know how to manage anything that requires creativity. They have never had any creative vision. Their MO has always been just spend money first, ask questions later. They have no idea what they want, and all they see is $$

This game already had a remake on 3ds, as did star fox 64. Couldn't we just a brand new zelda and a brand new star fox. Do we need to keep trying to redo the past.

How about Ryo from Shenmue, Axel from SOR, the Edge from PDS, Ristar, Gena from CT, Gilius from GA, Shun Di from VF, a Mech from VO, Vyse from SoA, Beat from JSR, Joe Musashi from Shinobi. There is a large back catalog. If they want a recognizeable brand they need to stop ignoring their IPs.

Honestly whatever consoles it comes out on I just hope AI isn't used. It appears that Sega is going all in on gen AI.

This fucking sucks. Especially since they have refused to touch these legacy IPs for so long. This is a lose-lose situation. If the game is successful that means even more genAI slop, if the game fails then Sega's c-suite goes, "I guess people don't want legacy IPs." This fucking sucks.

This is cool and all, but where are all the Sega characters that were in ASRT. Look I get these are all bigger IPs than Sega's IPs, but maybe Sega's IPs would be bigger if they did more stuff with them... Look I know Sega announced plans for older IPs, but the only thing we've seen from that is AOV.

That is such a sweetass render. I miss claymation ads like these. Stuff like this and the starfox puppets. I just love seeing these kinds of ads that give you an idea of what the low-fi graphics are supposed to represent. It makes the game feel like a mixed medium experience.
