Pretty happy to know the Noodler's sucks, given the background of the company... Now I have two reasons not to buy it :)

Most permanent markers have a fast-evaporating alcohol based solvent to dissolve the pigment, once the alcohol is gone the ink remains and is waterproof. Dry erase markers also use an alcohol-based solvent, so the alcohol in them breaks down "permanent" ink and lets you wipe it away.

I don't think he's anti-AI... his follow up posts rant that AI is "just a tool" like photoshop, or the PC or "the electronic pencil", & that people need to get with the times I -think- his stance is that anyone anti-LLM should be against all digital art, and that it's hypocritical otherwise.

Because I can't help myself, I looked at the 5 reposters: One account just reposts random things with no rhyme or reason. No original posts or replies. One follows 17k accounts and profile is 80% of emojis. Two of them constantly post about genAI being the future. The last one is a repost bot.

Yeah, polychromos are my favourites, I was lucky enough to be gifted a full set and they're my mainstays. I stuck with the expensive brands, because just replacing the odd one here and there is enough to get by.

For the first year I started drawing I used printer paper I... borrowed... from my office. Also pencils I borrowed from my office. Also sometimes time I borrowed from my office when nothing was going on... That's all you need to start. Something to draw on, something to draw with, and some time.

Oh no, I meant more high-grade versions of the kinds of materials you're currently using (like Caran D'Ache Luminance or Faber Castell Polychromos for pencils) It's genuinely quite hard to get the results you're getting with just crayolas, and I'd love to see what you'd manage with those others.

Started another doodlegram drawing and *immediately* there is a staredown happening over who gets the fish.

I'm always taken aback that you can get such good results with crayolas. Have you ever tried with fancier supplies?
