I have a pretty similar headcanon ! I put his date of death slightly later because I want him to have experienced the full Roaring 20s and the misery of the Great Depression , but I also do absolutely think he started as a radio operator during the war and continued on when he came back!

Just make a thing because YOU like it. Make a thing that a younger you would think is awesome. Peoples’ opinions are just a side effect.

ESPECIALLY nowadays, when it has the potential to be exposed to SO many people. But honestly, I say fuck that. There’s no point in obsessing over something so vague that is impossible to quantify.

Good is so nebulous, and dependent on who is looking at it. I think more than anything the goal should be to make a thing YOU think is cool, and fuck the rest of it. There’s so much unnecessary pressure and judgment put on artists and creatives to make something “good” by a wide margin.

I mean this in a like, quality sense. There is SO much to be said for individualized taste, and I feel like really letting that fact sink in really helps take the pressure off when you’re trying to make something. Cause naturally you’re like “I want it to be good” but good means different things.

This is like “Nicole can’t sleep at 6am” thoughts, but idk here they are. The more I work in animation, and the older I get, the more stories I’m exposed to and things I watch, read, or listen to, the more I realize that very very few things can be said to be objectively good or bad.

Thank you! I’m projecting some of my own personal experiences onto him, (esp the hearing everything part) and considering he IS a radio demon I feel like it fits his character and history too!
