This is a familiar response from the 'merit' debates in India. Arday is being made into a case against 'DEI appointments'. It isn't groupthink to point out that the two men principally involved have been accused of racism in their research. That is the agenda, plagiarism is the 'objective' cover.

This is the thing about AI - it is being designed to be invasive, dangerous c to make surveillance and chaos normal, and to use the existential fear that is drummed up from all this for more funding. You know where else we see this tactic? The arms industry.

As someone who until recently lived in Oxford, which is also twinned with Ramallah, bring on the twinning. Twinning is also a very old way of enacting a politics of internationalist solidarity.

This! And those who turn to it do so because they are terrified about keeping up, while Profs are increasingly overworked, and welfare services threadbare. If university is tickbox skills and corporate profit, rather than education for a robust democracy, AI works. Not otherwise.
