7 mo into Covid-19 after grueling 24hr caring for child with the disease, who survived. Showered at hosp, returned to office & informed staff, wasn't retiring the next mo, as had planned. Photo of that moment. This is my "diary". Nobody can change the reality of pandemic for those who lived it...

Helping out this AM at local clinic in family med. Logged into desktop & immediately recognized screen saver: Santa Elena Canyon, Big Bend! Brought back UT undergrad memories. Saw nesting Peregrine Falcons on Mexico side. Also photoed black bear tracks there & shared with Ranger staff 1977.

Have visited Rome & their historical sites sev times in the past. Most recently, last year. And pondered the "downfall" of the Roman Empire. No longer have to "ponder". As now, directly, witnessing how a nation can...crumble. One word: greed.
