SkyMapper.io merges advanced telescope and camera tech with Web3 to make space exploration collaborative and accessible for everyone, empowering the world to map and share the sky together.

Today's students are tomorrow's explorers. SkyMapper CEO @allplanets.bsky.social spoke with @setiinstitute.bsky.social REU students about our network, citizen science, and why some of the biggest breakthroughs begin by thinking differently. Here's to the next generation of space innovators. 🌌

How do you photograph a planet hidden by its own star? 🌌 SkyMapper CEO @allplanets.bsky.social joins #SETILive to explore how the Roman Space Telescope's Coronagraph could make it possible, and what that means for the future of exoplanet discovery. www.youtube.com/watch?v=e42Z...

A spent Falcon 9 upper stage is expected to impact the Moon on August 5, turning an unintended event into a rare scientific opportunity. 🌕 With SkyMapper, more eyes on the sky means more data to help capture and validate what happens next. www.newsweek.com/elon-musk-sp...

When something happens overhead, you should be able to trust what you're seeing. SkySphere delivers real-time sky alerts and trusted observations. Late Pledges are now live on Kickstarter. 🌌

Sometimes astronomy and ornithology have more in common than you'd think. 🐦🌌 You point a SkySphere at the sky expecting satellites or meteors... ...and end up spotting an unexpected visitor that's definitely not a UAP. Entertaining? Absolutely. Interesting? Also yes.

Last week, SkyMapper was at Assises de l’Espace. It was a great opportunity to connect with leaders across the space industry, exchange ideas, and discuss the future of astronomy and space technology. A big thank you to Thales Alenia Space for hosting us at their booth and for the warm welcome.

Space is getting crowded. 🛰️ One SkyQueue observation captured four satellites crossing the same field of view—including the geostationary EUTELSAT KONNECT VHTS. As Earth's orbital traffic grows, continuous observation becomes more important than ever.

49 lasers. 49 square miles of San Francisco. One unforgettable view. ✨ The 7X7 installation turned Civic Center into a field of light, inviting people to step inside the beams and look up. Sometimes the best way to connect with the sky starts right here on Earth. 🌌

The Moon is getting busier. Even with only a handful of objects in lunar orbit, spacecraft are already performing collision-avoidance maneuvers. By 2030, more than 100 new payloads are expected to head toward the Moon.

Not every satellite is easy to spot. This is PRISMA, Italy's Earth observation satellite, captured by the SkyMapper network from Wisconsin. Its Sun-synchronous orbit makes ground observations more challenging, making detections like this especially rewarding.

A bright Moon isn't the end of the night. Using a telescope in Christchurch, New Zealand, SkyMapper CEO @allplanets.bsky.social captured 47 Tucanae and the spectacular Helix Nebula. With SkyMapper, the sky is always open somewhere, and it's free for everyone to explore.
