and it frustrates me because i primarily make and consume m/m because it is so personal to me but i know at least on sites like ao3 i'm in the minority and "man" is simply seen as "the default body" so a lot of work is "men could NEVER experience misogyny irl hence why i made this"

i think what bugs me when the yearly "why is m/m so popular" debate comes up is that people inevitably are like "well it makes me uncomfortable when misogyny is done on a woman so doing it on a man makes me feel Safe" as if queer men aren't also impacted by misogyny in the form of homophobia

like i think xiv has always kinda had shortcomings here and there in their writing but it is amazing seeing how far it's come from this lmfaooooo
