“AI-identification tools” that think my writing is AI-written can fuck right off into the sun. (Actually, AIs will probably not employ the Gen-x comma (that is, the word “fuck”) as often as I fucking do, so the jokes on them!)
Manisha KrishnanAuthors and journalists are doing more first-person (hello 2010s blogging) and embracing "mistakes" in writing to prove they're not chatbots. Visionary Czech sci-fi: Ikarie XB 1, released this day in 1963. Directed by Jindřich Polák and starring Zdeněk Štěpánek. Romanian poster.
Ok, I just finished the Muriel Spark novella on which Identikit is based. I have never seen such a faithful adaption of a book before — it’s almost like it’s a novelization of the movie, but it came first. I appreciate the movie even more now and Elizabeth Taylor is brilliant in it.
Steve K 🎃all the edgelord 2000s & 2010s bloggers (and the pre-blog equivalents) who made cracks about Taylor's figure can go fuck themselves
This book has arrived and I am reading it; it is delightful. @bcdreyer.social have you read Muriel Spark’s “The Driver’s Seat”? In the first passage she dances between present tense and past perfect, and the effect is really superbly executed.
Steve K 🎃Yesterday I went to the library to check out Muriel Spark's "The Driver's Seat" and THERE IS A WAITING LIST for it (which makes me happy to see).
