We do have an ice cream truck come around occasionally, and I usually hear it playing the tune of something like "Do your ears hang low", but one day I hear it and I'm thinking "wait, what is that tune?"- it was *Silent Night*. WHATTT. I guess I shouldn’t assume this to be less of a problem with older, more established writers. And from someone who has some of the most beautiful book covers out there, who I first tried because of an amazing book cover (Widdershins)…ffs.

As with a lot of things, I think It Depends, and rules can be limiting. One of the sexiest scenes I remember reading recently was entirely in a character’s head- how she was imagining it would be with her LI based on their intense chemistry- before anything ever happened in real life.
