Mmhmm. There's an argument to be made that it works much better when the only difference between the two parties is size, and not being a literal pet that can't talk. But even then, it inevitably will start to skirt the same lines the more you think about it.

Also, anyone familiar with how I usually talk when I'm online would probably look at all this and conclude that it can't possibly be me. It is, this is just how I talk after I've watched old Christopher Hitchens debates. It's impossible not to pick up his voice for a few hours in your head!

I could go on but I just wanted to muse on this briefly, and it's not like anyone is terribly interested in hearing more. It's clear by now that long text threads aren't as popular these days. Plus whenever I freestyle ideas in a chain of skeets like this everything tends to get out of order.

Your owner doesn't mind being hot or is too cheap to run the AC when you'd rather be a bit cooler? Tough. And when I say no say, you might raise objections. Reject food, make noise, break things, but what happens when your owner tires of that? The more I ponder this idea the less I think of it.

I see it as a slippery slope from ceding your responsibilities to ceding your rights and your freedom. Okay, one day you turn into a real dog: No taxes, no job, no twitter, hooray! But no say in where you live. No say in the quality of your food, or your medical care. Limited say in your comfort.

The older I get the more I can see the appeal: society sucks. But it's not something I seek for myself, however much art I get of being scooped up and stuffed somewhere warm and plush by a big lady. That to me is always a temporary state, not a lifelong condition. Or imprisonment, as I see it.

The "abnegation of responsibility" is an interesting phrase that I came across in a debate once. It's a theme that comes up a lot in the micro side of the size media I see, I find it very interesting. I've seen it twice today alone in two different bits of TF-themed artwork.

Does anyone know any good non-AI robotic sounding text to speech generators? I found the SAM one (which was used for Intellivision and etc) it's extremely hard to find anything from early AppleTalk...

I've been binging Adrianbliss videos, and I can't stop thinking about how an interaction between a big and a little would go in his style of mildly disgruntled politeness. I'm going to give it a shot here but no promises I'll be able to match his energy, he's just too good. Ahem. 🧵
