It’s a psychological thriller. A man wakes after a brutal assault with no memories and an itch that can only be scratched with blood.

My favorite is that they cannot even name my book. Lots of "Your book touched me" or "I think your book..."

Its one of those internal itches! The doctor's couldn't seem to do anything for him so he found his own fix 😁

This was not a post for my work but me reading indie author books live! I use my live streams and the recordings to help indie authors market their books to new audiences. Em dashes are different from en dashes (–), which are used for ranges, connections, or compound modifiers. End answer? Use em dashes. They are valid and do not make you AI. Where do you think AI learned them from in the first place? 😀

Writers use em dashes instead of commas, parentheses, or colons to create emphasis or make sentence structure clearer. Em dashes are especially useful for parenthetical information, appositives with commas, lists, and sharp turns in thought.

The scent of the fresh fallen rain highlighted the possibilities inherent in this bastion of solitude. The unmarked doors provided lots of possibilities for future adventures. Who knew what opportunities awaited?

The narrow alley, full of the detritus of modern life, provided no way of escape. The smell of the grease added to the stink of the garbage, creating a layer of filth that not even the rain could wash away. or...

Certainly an aspect of the book so a great guess!
