Jay is one of the most delightful collaborators I've been lucky to work with and this Robot Song Cycle was the first thing I heard that made me go "I gotta work with this weird genius." And this was the first time I got to hear it live in its entirety!

It’s sort of amazing to think that in February 2024 Shing was here in Auburn carving puppets as a visiting artist, and that by November 2025 I visited those puppets at Shing’s studio in LA & got to see the sets for this film coming into being (and learn to carve, inexpertly). What a gift.
