Thank you!! I did consider Rosie telling him, but I don’t think she’d know of it since it was discovered in the 60s. 🤔 Maybe a rumor started about the possibility from a sinner that hunted & knew the signs. I’m sure Al made short work of them to squash the rumor but he’d look into more info!

Oh also I think the excessive salivating should be acidic. I don’t have any reasoning for this except it’s hell and everything’s a punishment. The inside of his mouth is constantly just a liiiitle raw and painful. If you’re “lucky” enough to kiss him, it’s tingly like a mild allergic reaction.

Additional headcanon that this is due to his sinner form’s eyes being deer like, with different cones and rods distribution and the tapetum lucidum that reflects light back from the retina. :)

surveillance catches Alastor looking dazed or when he picks up on the way Alastor leans more heavily on his cane when he’s feeling weak. He will utilize the ability to brighten and strobe his screen to trigger the deer like freeze response Alastor experiences with rapid changes in light and dark.

RadioRose crumbs: she notices every symptom, doing what she can to mitigate. Partly because she can’t have her strongest contract not performing at his best, partly because it pull her heartstrings. She has tonics made for him. Forces him to rest. Gives him grace when he picks fights with her.

He paces, sometimes in circles. He says it helps him think, but it’s another compulsion. One that he can’t accredit to a trigger other than his brain spurring him to do so. It compounds with the lack of coordination & he’s been seen stumbling around with that listless expression, presumed drunk.
