I still use iPhone and iPod. Not because I like Apple, but just because I a familiar with how those things operate. And because I still use iTunes.

I’m reminded of fairy tales. Magic is real, animals talk, pigs can build houses and gingerbread men get up and run. But nobody ever comments on the strangeness surrounding themselves. The reader is expected to accept it. Modern Hollywood, meanwhile, would make the hero snark at the absurdity.

That was something along how I felt about Man of Steel. It was well cast; Henry Caville was a fine pick for Superman. But the script was a mess that failed to understand the character it was adapting, and so the whole thing failed.

Why is everyone so afraid of camp? It’s campy and silly, and we all love it. The 80s movie knew it was silly, and it just rolled with it.

Endgame was the end of the Marvel movies. I do like the Spiderman movies released afterwards, and several other releases. But ultimately, Endgame was the definite end, so subsequent releases feel like an epilogue rather than the start of something new. They should have gone on hiatus.

It would have been funnier if they ate the economist instead.
