Man, I'm still very sad about Halo Infinite. It was, for me, the strongest Halo has ever been when it comes to the fundamentals. It was such a blast to play and the sandbox worked better than ever. But then that potential just wasn't utilized because of the management issues. Massive shame.

Needless to say, I was physically sweating because we had just launched and had a good chunk of people playing. If that injection did not do what it was supposed to - or made things worse - we'd be in for a hell of a time.

Oh man, that hurts lol I forgot to add a checkpoint before a boss fight which resulted in players losing ~30 minutes of progress in the Early Game, a period where you really do not want such issues. We had to inject some extremely hacky code because altering the map post-launch was too dangerous.

Sorry for being person #435384954 who rants about the game. It's perfectly fine otherwise. It looks good, it plays well, it's probably worth it for many. The main stinkers have been discussed to death already - you do not need to hear me repeat that.

There's also a bunch of invisible walls that weren't there before. If players want to go and explore off the beaten path, or look over that ledge because they want to see what's at the bottom of the skybox; let them. If they fall, that's on them. Just let it happen. The stakes are low anyway.

I love QA teams, but developers need to stop being so afraid of letting their players loose, and allow them to be a little rebellious in their offline game. Nobody gets mad when they fall to their death after going Out of Bounds. They do get mad when they're given a screen with a death countdown.

Look, I know there's a dumb hate campaign going on for this game that I refuse to take part in, but some of the decisions here are completely anti-fun and feel like overcorrections during the playtesting phase. They do not want you to go anywhere else than the main path.

Bought Halo: Campaign Evolved and I already hate what they've done.
