Both are great! I also think it's special when serious comics have a layer of levity/humor to it. Otherwise it can be too serious and not feel like there is any hope. But that's just a personal opinion! I think the opposite is also true with silly comics can strategically weave in serious themes.

Yes, I select the hue, which for my specific monochrome pallets is orangish red(vermillion) than I reduce the saturation way down, and then adjust the values from low to high it ends up almost greyscale but not quite! You can do it with any hue, and varying degrees of saturation for monochrome

The ice cream looks though, but a good chomp will take care of em!
