When I was very young, I thought wealthy and powerful people had to wear suits every day, something I would never want to do. I am proud of that little guy whose early wisdom kept me out of The Land of Suits.

Pondering Matthew 6:6, and just realized the wisdom of "reducing" the power of prayer to praying privately and alone. Any voice is powerful, but multiple voices together is a power humans in cultures like ours (USian) simply cannot manage, and ultimately breaks down into a mobs led by charlatans.

Yesterday while seining in the Delaware Bay with about a dozen kids we got a baby burr fish (a puffer) no bigger than a child's thumb. The joy (and initial fear) of the kids watching this little guy blow itself up will be one of my summer highlights. (Purple Feet Foundation--worth supporting.)

I have been hard of hearing since birth. I talked late, and I still talk "funny" but I got by. With the newer tech, figured I'd finally try out hearing aids. Yesterday I did--damn near cried with joy while testing out the demo pair. If you're on the fence, take the leap. Really. .

Ah, finally hit the summer trifecta: bee sting, jellyfish sting, and now poison ivy. Pretty good for an old man....

This was mostly just carbon dioxide just a few weeks ago.
