Too many layers of abstraction. Same reason I still want to write my papers myself/with others in my own words at the end.

Doing it yourself. Plus many more. Some reasons will make sense to some people and not others. Personally my impression is that GenAi cartoons are simply not an as accurate depiction of folks thoughts as mixing different material together.

I guess it depends what you think about GenAi more broadly. E.g. if you think GenAi appropriated the free internet and other people's to sell it back to you because they have the financial means to do so one might think it sucks. Or one might think you can never be as exact with GenAi compared to...

Do you mean a concept illustration and not an actual data figure? I have seen several of the former recently at a conference and folks seem fine with those as long as they make sense.
