Absolutely! What I wouldn't have given to see a fully-funded Bakshi version of The Return of the King 😍

It's my favourite version of LOTR by a country mile, followed by the old BBC radio adaptation. I tried to read the books when the first Peter Jackson film came out; I just about managed to finish the second book and didn't have it in me to start the third. Not a fan of his writing, to say the least.
