THAT'S ME, OMG IT'S ME, LOOK LOOK I hope you like potty-mouthed harpies! And murder! It's my 50th story acceptance! And it's to a press I love, for a story I love. That's nice, isn't it? This is fun.

Agita Publishing (formerly From Beyond Press)

“Make him notice you,” I say to my reflection. “Make shit happen.” Sasha Brown is joining SIDE HUSTLE: HORROR STORIES FOR LATE CAPITALISM with "The Harpies of Central Park Tower." Coming in March 2027. @sashabrown.bsky.social

doing a scavenger hunt with my kid where each clue is a puzzle that must be solved (it's a chore I want him to do with me) 1) Look upon the fairest hill; Plant a glyph to keep it still. Once the garden is protected, Your next clue may be collected. (plant the pretty garden stone he made me)

You ever eat something just to find out whether it's food?

Having a 10yo is great because they're at an age where you can announce "Your mother and I are avid Frenchers" and watch them die inside

Sasha's Organizational Tip: do you have a Bullshit Zone? Everyone in your family needs a Bullshit Zone. Easily accessible, relatively visible, judgment free. Mine is next to the printer. I go through it when I run out of room for new bullshit.

They're holding in a rant about second person POV. Clenching so hard. They even have that upper lip sweat.

EVERYTHING IS SO ANNOYING RIGHT NOW

I cannot emphasize enough, don't give your kid an A name. I get exponentially more butt dials than the rest of you. (sidenote: only my mom, and you, calls me Sasha)

During Covid, I used to set up these complicated Dragon Hunt quests in the woods for my kid and his friend. One of them ended at Ponyhenge, a real place in Mass. It's very cool and so is this story.

hey if being covered in cockroaches is on your bucket list, I got a story for you

Unpleasant little tale here in @fraidycatpress.bsky.social - a route-one skincrawler filled with horrible creatures (including the protagonist). I enjoyed it immensely. fraidycatpress.com/raw-life-by-...

It's a good thing 'teh' isn't a word.

before anyone starts thinking we're good parents, I just gave my kid a strawberry - a normal, whole strawberry that hadn't been sliced - and he went "how am I supposed to eat this"
