History (inc. premodern historical texts) by time period/region; other nonfiction by subject or type (e.g.memoir has a lil shelf); fiction divided into a few broad genres with admittedly fuzzy boundaries. Scifi/fantasy is the biggest section so it gets alphabetized by author.

Immigrant Punk

Enough of the horrors and doom scrolling. Let's talk about something fun. How do you arrange your books?

Sigourney Weaver for sure.

Nanoraptor

You suddenly get a narrator describing your life and there’s no way to turn it off - everyone can hear it. While shopping, at work, at home, with friends - the voice narrating your every move goes on. Who do you hope is the voice of this narrator?

Oh oh are we talking about how we find books on our shelves? Mine are arranged by category/genre (as determined by me saying: where would I, Sam, look for this) and then alphabetical by author. It isn't the most space efficient, unfortunately.

Me getting interviewed as a 200yo vampire, struggling to remember things that happened 20 years ago

My parents had R movies on all the time so who knows what was really first, but the first I clearly remember (because I was so terrified!!) was Child's Play. Age... 7? 8? 💀

Patrick Klepek

Do you remember what *your* first R-rated movie was? I finally asked my mom (I couldn't remember), and she told me it was The Lost Boys when I was roughly the same age as my daughter (about 9). The movie traumatized her more than it did me, apparently

My only-slightly-tinfoil-hat belief is that the proliferation of garbage clicker games for kids (think Roblox games where the only functionality is to use coins to repeatedly click for randomized rewards), loot boxes, mystery box toys, etc etc are feeding kids directly into the gambling woodchipper

Haha I loved this one

Reactor Magazine

“It took Benjamin Franklin twenty-seven minutes and fourteen seconds to discover there was pornography on the Internet.” Clones of the Founding Fathers are sick of fascism, too. @bookjockeyalex.bsky.social recommends Meg Elison's witty science fiction novella Foundling Fathers!
