Thankfully nobody I know personally but it's shocking how many arguments I've had online with people insisting *insert extreme right wing policy* can't happen here. These people paid no attention in history class.

I know a lot of people are uncomfortable knocking on strangers' doors but there is so much more you can do if you want to get involved in campaigning. We need people doing data entry, research, planning routes etc. Even just coming along socials to get to know everyone.

The guy behind Count Binface would 100% do the job and I think he'd be really good at it too. He'd simultaneously be destroying Nigel Farage's political career (well, for now, he has an annoying habit of bouncing back).

Not sure about that. He got less than 50% of the vote last time and he's pissed off a lot of people who voted for him last time. I think there's a fair chance he might lose. Wouldn't bet my house on it but I wouldn't be surprised either.

And if he loses to Binface thats the end of his political career (plus Clacton get a much better MP).

Went out canvassing for East Edinburgh Greens for the byelection in Portobello today. Four of us from @westlothiansgp.bsky.social came along for this one. Lorenzo is a great candidate and it was lovely to meet team. Lots of positives on the doorsteps too.
