they very obviously want this to be a normal, garden variety romantic comedy (i seen this trailer like 10 times because we got an AMC stubs membership for cam so we can see cheap movies with half price ticket for me) and holy hell what are we doing here?
EXACTLY
the first time I saw the trailer I was like "did I hear that wrong? are you telling me that single people are only allowed to have sex one day of the year? that can't be the premise, right?"
you tellin' me you didn't even try to pass this off as dark romance? just like, same category as bridget jones' diary or whatever? heartwarming romp? a place where people confirm your relationship status before you're allowed into buildings? what in the hell
like this is the premise for a sci-fi thriller in a dystopia, which could be an interesting story but i'm supposed to think this is a meet cute the whole time! every time i see the trailer i'm like "this sounds like hell, actually, why would you write this? what fantasy are you fulfilling?"
brother you wrote out a whole post about how he believes people shouldn't be in wrestling because of their race and made fun of their (foreign) names and said "but he's not racist"
be so fucking serious rn
it is laser etched into my brain because it was so unique, hadn't seen it at all and it made my skin crawl so uniquely I never forgot
so ya I still think it's a pretty good movie, and safely before all the baggage attached to him
sequels to it suck but that's no surprise
i'm not calling it a masterpiece or anything but the leg shaving scene was so visceral
and I liked the stupid weird pancakes kid
I liked rider strong
it ain't outstanding but it was solid and not exclusively torture and didn't have AI and had good practical effects
