I'm offended that I didn't get a DM after this. JK, but this is truly another sucky situation. Why can't people just be normal? Pretty much every comment I make triggers at least a small amount of anxiety, I can't even imagine going to such lengths... The thought of doing that physically hurts.

THAT's who this all is about? Ugh... I didn't interact too much or get too involved with them, but I was concerned with their (well, supposed...) recent hospital stay. How weird to make up such a thing...

Looks like some more drama is bubbling up. Glad to have curated my little corner of Bluesky to avoid most of that, but I would also appreciate a quick summary so that I can block any offenders. Rest assured my awkwardness and lukewarm takes are the result of an actual me.

11 - Shin Megami Tensei V JRPG goodness through and through. I was unsure about reviewing this one since I haven't actually finished the new content, but I greatly enjoyed the original version on Switch and I have confidence this is even better.

10 - Cat Quest 3 Such a great little series, like a game-equivalent of a Saturday morning cartoon. (Complimentary) Also, the whole series is currently on sale on Steam for only $13. Easy recommendation. store.steampowered.com/bundle/41962...

9 - Furi Super tough but tons of fun and the soundtrack is insanely good. Highly recommended if you enjoy a challenging boss rush.

8 - Yoku's Island Express Keeping the metroidvania train going, this is a delightful and unique experience blending in pinball mechanics. While not perfect, it's still a lot of fun and well worth playing.

I’ve replaced all of the light switches, electrical outlets, and ceiling fans in my house since moving in. I didn’t trust the labeling and just shut off the whole house even when only working on one room. 😂 Better safe than sorry!

Oh really? Sheesh... I've only ever watched it on Hulu - and on my first watch even before the episodes were pulled - so I wasn't aware.

To be fair, there are a couple of episodes that they have pulled from streaming. Which I think is BS - especially since they don't even include "The Gang Gets Racist" - and is nowhere near the same as being "canceled," but still. Even Always Sunny isn't fully immune.

I just talked about this game less than a month ago on one of Datvivar's game threads. Granted I haven't played it in many years, but for its age I think it holds up incredibly well. Don't make my mistake and commit to the Nightmare difficulty though. It's not worth it. 😅

Great taste in music and puts most people playing FromSoft games (including me) to shame.

I should be happy with my speed that is 1/4 of this, and realistically it does meet my needs. But dang, I want that speed. I'm jealous and happy for you.

Like Guild Wars 2, for example. I haven't played it personally, but it's an MMO that has thrived without a monthly subscription. Only the paid game and expansions. I hope that makes sense, especially since I'm trying to stick close to the character limit on here and not bombard you with replies.

I appreciate your replies, thank you! To an extent I personally think that the "cosmetics only" approach is still predatory. (See Fortnite.) I realize it has been a thing since WoW, but I also have an issue with subscriptions to keep access to a game. Anything impermanent feels wrong to me.

It's almost crazy how much of your replies could have been plucked right out of my brain. Definitely the main issue is the desire for unending profit. That comes through both in paid and F2P games, and I didn't mean to imply it was exclusive to F2P. I appreciate your responses. Truly.

Absolutely! If a developer wants to make their game free then I have nothing against that. It’s the typical means of monetization that bothers me. Especially since it usually seems more predatory to me in F2P games.

I’ve heard similar sentiment towards Warframe, though I’ve barely played it myself. I appreciate the callout though! That’s why I hesitate to make blanket statements without inviting conversation. If I may ask for more info, how do you feel it’s fair/unfair in its monetization?
