Just watched the final trailer again, and John Cena really is going the Michael Caine in Muppet Christmas Carol route of playing it genuinely intimidating which makes the interactions even funnier, especially the Tweety interrogation. "What did you tee? What did you taw?"

The fact that Coyote vs ACME is considered "indie" now, even by the term's loose definition today, feels like the perfect metaphor for how things that seemed like no-brainers for successful filmmaking and storytelling, for ANY type of movie, hell, any medium, for adults or children, feel fringe now!

I think the most recent film that succeeded in that "hate it for the reasons I was supposed to hate it" vibe was Bodies Bodies Bodies, because to me, it works as a comedy if you see it less as a traditional laugh-a-minute fun time, and more as a twisted anecdote building to a fucked-up punchline!

I find it interesting that his experience of Lost Highway was the same experience Simon Pegg said his daughter had with Blue Velvet, not really enjoying it but thinking about it for a long time afterwards. That's just the power of David Lynch.
