The 2015 secret wars (which I think they are basing these movies on) was a universe-wide reboot event like DC's Crisis. Predictably, it wasn't very good.

I gotta admit it was one of the things that started me reading super comic books on the regular. I was 12 and I thought it was cool to see all the characters in one big story. In retrospect the best thing about Secret Wars was Mike Zeck's cover for issue #1. Maybe the only good thing.
