RAF Fairford doesn’t have a Military Aviation Noise Contour (MANC), while many local residents are having their lives negatively affected everyday. That isn’t fair. Now that bombers have operated out of the base for nearly 5 months, it’s time to carry out a MANC.

After the record breaking hot weather in this year, it’s not a surprise that more than half of England is in drought, including my constituency. Climate change is effecting our farming, food security and water scarcity. We must take urgent action. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The way Thames Water is being run is unacceptable. Pay rises for them, no water for their customers. I am setting up an APPG focussing on the River Thames. This isn’t a partisan issue, it’s a a company failing its customers. We need change now. www.wiltsglosstandard.co.uk/news/2641696...

Supporting families that need care shouldn’t be a partisan issue. We must find a solution that puts an end to the social care crisis now. It’s time to guarantee free personal care.

Liberal Democrats

After 22 failed attempts to sort the social care crisis. The 23rd must now deliver. It's time to put family carers first, guarantee free personal care, and end catastrophic care costs. @AlisonEBennett.bsky.social

The government needs to grasp the nettle of water company ownership, as companies continue to profit from poor service. Water companies must have their licences revoked. They're not performing their side of the contract and they're not fit for purpose. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Last week, parts of my constituency went without running water. At the same time, water bosses were given pay rises. That is a disgrace. Anger over bills and pollution far predates my time as an MP, yet water companies continue to reward themselves for this ‘work’. It must stop.

Summer recess is now upon us. That means I get to spend far more time around the South Cotswolds. It also means the end of Keir Starmer’s cabinet, with a new cabinet led by Andy Burnham in place once recess finishes in September. I hope the change this country needs can follow.

Yesterday saw the second annual Climate and Nature statement, with the Government highlighting their plans for 30by30. #climate #nature #parliament #goverment #politics

It’s time we properly hold water companies to account for how much sewage they are dumping into our waterways.

Liberal Democrats

When sewage is pouring into your local river, lake or beach it doesn't just matter how long it happens for, it matters how much 💩 there is! @rozsavage.bsky.social told the Prime Minister to end the sewage coverup.

Yesterday I ask a PMQ, pushing the government to force water companies to be more transparent with the amount of sewage they are dumping in our rivers and waterways. Currently we only measure on sewage per hour, not a concrete amount. A drop an hour is not the same as flood.

After last week’s Lime Down Public Hearing I got the opportunity to put a question to the Minister for Energy Security and Net Zero about their plans to wheel back the blanket commitment of solar panels in car parks.

Clacton deserves an MP whose priority is the wellbeing of the people of Clacton, not the wellbeing of his bank balance. This by-election means that the Parliamentary Standards Committee's investigation into Nigel Farage will be put on hold for the duration of the campaign… 1/2

Last week I spoke at the Lime Down Public Hearing, voicing my opposition to the plans in their current state. #limedown #publichearing #politics #southcotswolds #mp

I have written a letter to the Secretary of State for Defence regarding the reported investment planned for RAF Fairford. Whatever work ends up being carried out must be done with local residents’ wellbeing in mind.

92% of voters support introducing a cap on political donations. 88% of Reform voters do. This isn’t a partisan issue. Everyone wants to stop parties being influenced by big money back handers. It’s time for a cap on politcal donations now. At some point, generosity starts to feel like bribery.

Nigel Farage: half a million promoting gold, £5 million 'reward' for Brexit, £100k for Cameo videos. While people are struggling, Farage is grifting.

Yesterday I gave the opening statement at the public hearing for Lime Down. Residents were not reeling against renewable energy in general, but in the current failure to adequately account for the environmental, ecological and social consequences for the communities that will live with Lime Down.

It’s important that whatever expansions of US military presence or increases in spending comes to our constituency, the lives of local residents are held in mind.

Yesterday, I co-sponsored a cross-party briefing on defending our UK democracy. We have seen in the US how quickly things can deteriorate if we only rely on the ‘good chap’ theory when trusting our leaders. We must strengthen our democracy before the next general election.

I’m very happy to hear that Andy Burnham seems to be taking the very Liberal view of decentralisation of government and power. It’s something that both my Party and I have been championing for a long time. #mp #politics #westminster #parliament #decentralisation
