Don’t let Kelly’s brand image fool you. He votes with the Rs more than almost anybody. Was 5th in 2024 and spent 2025 yes’ing every Trump nominee.

Been working on who the *worst* candidates are, and rn I think the only option worse than Kelly is Gavin Newsom (possibly Buttigieg? He is the hardest to nail down.) Like Kelly might honest to god be worse than Josh Shapiro if we look at the totality of their records.

It’d be tempting to pick a ghoul as a way of favor trading with the establishment but we have to remember that if we win, whoever VP is will have a leg up running for potus in the 2030s.

There isn’t really any electoral evidence that “balancing” the ticket does anything. Most data we have suggests VPs usually don’t affect campaigns, and in the minority of cases where they do it’s negatively. So the main task is to not pick someone who is bad enough to be a liability.

No he isn’t. In 2024 Mark Kelly was the 5th most likely Democrat to vote with Republicans. He’s also been one of the most reliable yes votes for Trump’s appointments.

Please check these guys out a bit more thoroughly in the future. Kelly had a lot of bad votes and statements before this.

Please look more into candidates before forming opinions of them. Kelly was a Laken Riley sponsor, recorded Netanyahu apologist, outspoken border security freak, and the 5th most likely Democrat to vote with Republicans in 2024.
