Nah we can have that debate right now: No level of attachment to HP justifies putting money in her pocket. Looking at HP in a vacuum further exposes its lame duck in-universe politics. A world imbued with magic finds a way to rationalize house elf slavery and other reactionary bullshit.

And it does make me sad, because even though I know the books aren't really anything that special, I really loved them as a kid and I wish I could share that with my daughter when she's old enough. But you just absolutely cannot support it right now, or probably ever again.
