It really looks like a 5 to me. I'd guess it's a mistake, but exactly what/how I'm not sure. My best guess would be that it originally said 160-something-else and the writer meant to change it to 1605 but got the digits the wrong way round. But I'm open to better offers

Not sure about the first word, though squinting at it closely I could just about imagine it being 'write'. The year looks to me like 1605 corrected to 1650, rather bizarrely
