to conclude this thread: if you are an artist, i highly higly encourage you to get organized and join the fight for a better world. for far too long we have remained in the sidelines while the world burns, but the current moment cannot be ignored and it desperately calls for revolutionary art!!!

we’re starting to see a shift in mainstream artists, with bad bunny’s last album and polyphias latest video having explicitly political themes (and others, these are just the first that popped to mind), i think this trend will continue since it is just impossible to ignore that the world is on fire

this experience leads me to conclude that the notion that art and politics must not be mixed is just simply not true, its not even that, it is a gross misunderstanding of what politics actually is. wanting art for everyone, every single human being in planet earth, is a deeply, deeply political idea

this was a quick sketch to get a feel on how risa handles this kind of writing cause i am actually interested in composing in this style. There’s no definite inspiration but I did lean on the octatonic (or diminished) scale that gets frequently used in DM contexts
