I know what you said, but you give no logical reason. If your contention is that a smaller filter area requires more pressure to allow air to pass through, then say that. But that wouldn’t necessarily reduce the volume of sir passing through. It could just make the fan work harder.

The size and power of the fan determines the volume of air flowing through, not the square inches of filters around it. Think about it—if you added 2 filters to make a hexagonal box, would 50% more air flow through the fan?

I understand “more quickly,” but HEPA should filter out smaller particles than MERV13. I guess the HEPA air purifier companies suck you into buying their proprietary filter replacements, but with the DIY box I imagine you need to untape, dismantle, and rebuild the whole thing. Leaves me undecided.

It’s hard to understand how the DIY box with MERV13 filters works better than HEPA air purifiers which have a minimum rating of MERV17.

A couple possible disadvantages to the box vs commercial air purifier would seem to be that the box takes a lot more floor space and changing filters would be a royal pain.

I was wondering the same thing. Other than having the fan pointed straight up, which you might want if you don’t want a direct breeze, what’s the advantage of the box vs. just taping a filter directly to the back of the fan?

Yeah, where is the pushback to reality against the Republicans falsely claiming the Biden DOJ was “weaponized” against Trump? Where is the assertion of facts that distinguish those legitimate prosecutions from the totally bogus, vindictive attempts to go after Trump’s perceived enemies?

Fair enough. But he’s been pretty critical of the Trump administration since he decided not to run for re-election. His spiel today is so blatantly partisan and disingenuous that it wipes that all away.
