It's gonna be fun when Sophie is waived because she's not actually that good at basketball and she turns that into a whole thing about being cancelled.

I've had a LOT of conversations with people about sex/gender and sports. Some people are genuinely confused and asking questions in good faith. But those people don't heave entire PR teams, aren't going on nation television and spouting off, and aren't doing deals with TERF influencers and brands.

If you know someone who lives in the Bay Area can you do me a favor? Send them this calendar? I work really hard on it every week and think it's a genuinely useful thing, but I feel like it's so hard to get the word out!!! www.coyotemedia.org/coyote-calen...

COYOTE Calendar: July 30-August 5This week we've got alien costumes, several forms of magic, bratwurst throwing, Yiddish puppetry, and something described as “intelligent, leaky, erotic, and alive.”www.coyotemedia.org

I have long passed the point where I simply don't give a shit what people who refuse to leave Substack or Twitter have to say, especially when it comes to journalism, technology, or, lmao, justice.

Every week I bring you 40-50 reasons to leave your house! A lovely reader recently told me the calendar "reads like a love letter to the Bay Area every week." <3 www.coyotemedia.org/coyote-calen...

HAPPY BOOK LAUNCH DAY to @sesmith.lol! Don't let the title fool you, this book is about way more than cats or even pet loss — it's about grief, the way Western culture is fucking weird about it, and how we can do better for ourselves, our friends, and our community. bookshop.org/a/118950/978...

One of the fun parts of running the @coyotemedia.org calendar is that I get to write teaser text like "We’ve also got alien costumes, several forms of magic, bratwurst throwing, Yiddish puppetry, and something described as “intelligent, leaky, erotic, and alive.” The Bay Area is NOT dead, y'all.

I think our phones should still have cool swirly little cords attached that can't go very far from their anchor.

Really interesting piece by @nuala.bsky.social about the battle for a lot in Oakland. It's a perfect spot for housing, and the planned building seems actually good and will be truly (!!) affordable (!!). It's also going to destroy the homes of a bunch of herons. www.coyotemedia.org/herons-or-ho...

Herons or Housing: The Battle Over a Vacant LotA large affordable housing development is slated for downtown Oakland. It could displace hundreds of black-crowned night herons, the city’s official bird.www.coyotemedia.org
