If Russia is a gas station with nukes, the US is a tech oligarchy with nukes. Actually that's not a fair comparison because Russia doesn't go around the world coercing, threatening and bullying countries that regulate and tax its petroleum products.

Saying people voted for Trump because they're uninformed or racist is like saying the air is smokey because fire is hot. The answer is useless because it doesn't get to cause and effect that can be controlled.
