I know summer doesn't technically end until later but August always feels like the Sunday of summer, which means I'm going to be doing my Sunday tradition all month long: procrastinate then panic-clean to avoid my to-do list.

Every now and again I feel the need to pop on and vent that connecting health insurance and access to healthcare to employment is a scam. So this is that post.

There have been people in my life who nearly lost their lives because of anorexia, and I'm not even going to get into anything I've experienced myself. Watching this news cycle/pop culture cycle is actually horrifying.

I still do stretches for my feet and ankles I learned when I was dancing which always makes me feel like I'm being a overzealous. So taking this as vindication!

I finally got one of the scam author emails. "Rachel Cusk" is asking if I ever "feel like swapping thoughts on young adulthood, mental health, connection, or the art of finding meaning in the everyday." Glorious.

It's so bad. Even jobs at places that once seemed "stable" aren't. And with editors being laid off and budgets being cut, there are less opportunities for freelancers to pitch, while it feels like even more people are trying to freelance because of lack of full-time jobs.

I understand the advice to cook vegetables and greens (and lord knows I'm not risking the diarrhea parasite), but cooked veggies and fries simply is not as perfect a meal as a salad and fries.
