Does anyone think it’s odd that a congressman from Louisiana, lowest in healthcare, income and education was voted in by the republican party to be speaker of the house? He can’t help his own state, what made them think he could help the US?

Why was the speaker of the house chosen from Louisiana which is one of the lowest in education, healthcare and income? He wants to take away Medicare and give himself a big raise while his constituents starve and die? Please explain.
