A very happy International Zine Libraries Day (July 21st) to all zine libraries and librarians around the world!!! 🥳 As is tradition, if you can, please honor this day by bringing the zine librarian in your life a donut or other sweet treat to celebrate the work and play that they do! 🍩

We are incredibly grateful to be the recipient of one of this year's Jen Angel Anarchist Media Grants. About a year ago we ran out of space to store all of the queer zines that have been donated or acquired by our archive, and this grant's funding will be going to rectify that. #circleaarchivists

Agency

Join us in celebrating the 2026 Jen Angel Anarchist Media Grant recipients! This is the 4th year that Agency and @anarchist-studies.bsky.social have partnered to award grants to projects that seek to make anarchist ideas more accessible to broad audiences. More: anarchistagency.com/jen-angel-an...

We were reminded over the weekend that the Dirtybird 96 Queercore Festival happened 30 years ago in San Francisco! Check out Larry-bob's website chronicling the bands, films and venues of a bi-gone era: holytitclamps.com/dirtybird/

we're super stoked to note that #alaac26 coincides with Pride this year, and we really hope that folks heading to @zinelibraries.bsky.social Zine Pavilion also take the opportunity to go to the Chicago Dyke March! We're at both (in spirit 👻)

Our friends at Laughing Grackle Zine Distro are seeking submissions of quarter-size zines to add to their new-to-them spinner rack. Quarter-size here is 4.25"x5.5", or ¼ U.S. Letter-sized paper

Part of teaching about queer zines and queer history is talking about the affair between Secret Heart Ken and Earring Magic Ken in the mid 1990s. This officially licensed post card was produced in 1994, just one year after Ken came out. Happy Pride, Y’all

Holy Shit! QZAP friend @sheerspite.bsky.social has zinified Teleny by Oscar Wilde. Once censored as smutty smut, now punk as fuck!

We're getting ready to have this exact conversation with our writing interns tomorrow. Yes, words have been weaponized against us. Also, those same words have contributed to us finding ourselves and each other and building communities and fighting back, too.

Misty Gedlinske

All of our labels have some amount of historical blood on them. If queer folks self-censored every descriptive term for ourselves that others have ever used as an insult or slur against us, we’d have no vocabulary to express our inner lives at all. Which is exactly what bigots and fascists want.
