I sold to Loves, TA, Pilot, and mom and pop c-stores. I did eat at Cracker Barrel a time or two. I covered Atlanta to FLA, to the Rio Grande to Amarillo, then back home.

I sold book on tapes to truck stops in the 90s. I listened to 20 or more every month. I loved a well-narrated book. I think my fav was Peter MacNichol reading Beach Music by Pat Conroy.

Born 27 July 1942, Bobbie Gentry rose to international fame in 1967 with her Southern narrative "Ode to Billie Joe". The track spent 4 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 & was 3rd in the Billboard year-end chart of 1967, earning her a Grammy award for Best New Artist. 84 today. #BobbieGentry
