In just six days, NatureScot will decide whether to grant a licence for the Guga hunt - an annual hunt on the remote Scottish island of Sula Sgeir, where young Gannet seabirds are caught and beaten to death for a cruel tradition. We'll be doing everything we can to stop this.

Gulls are some of the most hated and persecuted birds. It seems people forget, they're trying to survive.

Right now, nature has no legal rights. Our rivers, woods and wildlife can be polluted and destroyed, treated as resources to be used. Early Day Motion 562 wants to change that, recognising nature as a legal entity with rights, and a duty of care to protect it.

From August, three staghound packs will hunt southwest England’s wild red stags. On quad bikes and horseback, hunters and their hounds pursue a stag to exhaustion. The deer is finally shot, his throat cut, and his body is butchered for trophies.

On 12 August, the shooting season begins and hundreds of thousands of red grouse will be gunned down for sport. This year, Oddie's fierce, critical voice will be sorely missed.

Bill Oddie was a much loved wildlife presenter and birder. A passionate conservationist, he spoke out against grouse shooting, the badger cull and other cruelties. He campaigned for the red grouse to be made Britain's national bird, to protect the bird from the 'wealthy, dishonest, cruel' people.

On the 1st of August, barbaric stag hunting begins, stags chased to exhaustion and shot in the head in the name of "science". We stand firmly against it because their lives matter.
