A GOP Senator is in private care. While that is the case, the GOP is down one vote in the Senate. Beshear cannot replace him with a Dem, and a Republican would win a special election. I'd rather have one less GOP vote in the Senate for as long as we can. You apparently want something else

Everyone always wants to concentrate on the Fairness Doctrine repeal (I think mostly because they just like the word 'fairness'), but it's clear to me that the relaxation of the ownership regulations that allowed the consolidation of media companies was for more impactful

The Fairness Doctrine was never the "truth in media" policy that people want to pretend it was.

The Fairness Doctrine was a FCC policy that only applied to broadcast television/radio, and did not and could not apply to cable channels like Fox News. Furthermore, the notion that the Fairness Doctrine prevented misinformation at all is categorically false.
