SSL's Weijie Sun & Jiutong Zhao, along with @umichengineering.bsky.social's Ryan Dewey, analyzed MESSENGER mission data and found that Mercury has intermittent radiation belts. The findings could help protect the @esa.int/JAXA BepiColombo mission when it reaches Mercury this year.
