61 years ago, President Johnson signed Medicaid and Medicare into law. It has helped countless Americans get the healthcare they need. You’d think everyone would agree, yet last year, Republicans in Congress cut Medicaid by nearly $1 trillion, forcing millions to lose their healthcare.

Ridglan Farms was an infamous beagle breeding and testing facility in my district. For years, activists fought to expose the cruelty happening there and together we shut it down. But the fight to protect animals from abuse is far from over. (1/2)

17 years. That’s how long it’s been since the national minimum wage was increased in the US. No member of Congress could live on $7.25 an hour & they know it. It’s why I’m a co-sponsor of the Raise the Wage Act and will continue to fight for its passage so that the minimum wage is a livable wage.

The Restore Trust in Government Act would ban Members of Congress and their families, the President, and Cabinet Members from owning or trading individual stocks. But Speaker Johnson refuses to bring it to the floor for a vote. Why?

It's worth remembering that under the Obama administration, the U.S. restored diplomatic relations with Cuba and nothing bad happened. We should not impose a blockade that has fueled a humanitarian crisis for political reasons rather than genuine national security concerns.

The shooting that occurred in Madison was a heartbreaking incident. It is difficult to see something like this happen so close to home. My thoughts are with the family of Corey Ruiz who lost his life. We are attempting to get additional information about the occurrence, as are many in the community.

Today, I voted NO on a $1 TRILLION+ war budget. Congress is choosing to funnel exorbitant sums into a bloated department instead of investing in the needs of working families.
