Always thought the Laila Harbert move to Portland Thorns was a season too early. San Diego Wave are a much better fit for the type of football LH prefers though. Good move for SDW.

I asked this awhile back. And all I got was “a ways to go” so can definitely check in again.

This is a fantastic question. I do think they need to bring Jennie Immethun back and give her reps at CB (one of top rated defenders in NCAA) in addition, at the six. However... It's clear Jayden Perry is their preferred starter next to Sam Hiatt. Only 1 name makes sense in NWSL imo: Sam Staab.

If they stand pat the remainder of the window and not add in central defense, it's going to be a very long summer and fall. The backline is being asked to do too much/a lot to say the least... Will they put their head coach in a position to succeed down the stretch of 2026?

At this point, it's clear Robert Vilahamn would like the CBs in his system to play a particular way and they just don't have the personnel to do that right now. If they're going to see what they have in their head coach, he needs to have more reinforcements in the backline.
