If we aren't going to tax vehicles by weight can we at least ban people artificially lifting their trucks? There's no reason Chip from down the street on your suburban cul-de-sac needs to drive a truck taller than a raised bungalow to his office park job.

There are things Chow could to do move the needle on housing affordability and congestion that haven't been done (see: not using strong mayor powers on sixplexes, lack of progress on streetcar speeds), but on crime, almost all levers of possible improvements rest with the province and feds.

The Ford government caused a governance crisis in Waterloo Region by forcing Regional Council to sign NDAs over the Wilmot land assembly, and eviscerated the countryside line that had protected prime agricultural land for decades. Their "concern" for farmland affected by Alto is a complete sham.

A good question to ask would be city councillors in this fall's elections is a) do they support medium density (including small apartments buildings) w/in the interior of neighbourhoods, and if not b) how do they propose to mitigate the public health effects of banishing renters to arterial roads?

The Ford government's entire political philosophy (or lack thereof) is governance by opinion polls, so it's a pretty glaring indication they're flailing when they don't understand Torontonians hate this, and the rest of us are tired of them pretending the only place they govern is the GTA.
