But also there is no fascism without desperation. Most people who voted for Trump (and Hitler) voted for jobs food hope, not for racism or antisemitism. Until Dems acknowledge this desperation and act accordingly, they’ll keep losing. Alarms about democracy don’t move the needle anymore.

But each unit of new solar power isn’t offset by a decrease in fossil fuel energy. It just increases energy used. We’re still dumping a record amount of fossil fueled filth into our air, water, land. There’s no magic hope pill - the only solution is to stop burning filthy fossil fuels. Period.

Neither one of those options is sufficient. The absolutely ONLY WAY to reduce the horrible suffering that’s coming is to STOP USING FOSSIL FUELS WHENEVER AND WHEREVER POSSIBLE, period. Yes, that means consume A LOT less everywhere, everyday. Waiting for the magic hope pill? Dream on.

I have a holly tree next to the window that is laden with berries. Robins have massed in it to eat them in the past - maybe that’s why all the birds were here this morning. The sun was blazingly bright on the window - but 8 birds is beyond what’s happened b4 in 24 years of living here

8 birds flew into a big window at my house this morning. 3 died. So sad. This is new - it’s happened a couple times a year at most. Trying to identify the bird. I have a photo - don’t want to post a dead bird photo but I could dm someone? (And yes, I looked online still can’t say what species)
