texted my son earlier to say ive bought vol 1 of absolute batman, absolute martian manhunter and absolute wonderwoman (there was a 3 for 2 offer) and he said he was just going to buy abs batman earlier and hes now glad he didnt. well he can buy volume 2.

when this text was written it was the usual silly over the top hyperbole but in hindsight… actually pretty accurate.

looking at the ditko spider-man artist edition and i dunno if its just im older or that looking at it at this scale recomtextualises everything but that first spider-man story that sets up who he is and establishes so much of the lore and what he looks like (and poses) is just… 12 pages. 12 pages!

i have travelled. not for a holiday with family nor for a comic convention. its so weird.

it feels odd that the last bastion of a decent newsagents are the airports. it feels like stumbling across a lovely cache of food and silence during a zombie apocalypse.
