Thanks! It could very well be me doing something dumb.

Unclear why @buttondown.com chose to illustrate this issue with the image on my subscription page, rather than the relevant photo of blackberries at the top of the actual issue of the newsletter. But I still think Buttondown is the best!

I bought two books from them once. Took a while, but they showed up as promised in great shape.

Gosh, thanks. As I recall they screened it for critics at the very last minute so I had to turn it around quickly and there wasn’t a lot of space left in the print edition. It certainly would have been difficult to do a 1200-word feature on that one.

Two awesome independent bookstores within a couple blocks of each other! Page 2 Books is a great new and used general interest bookstore and Three Trees Books specializes in quality books that are short, quick reads.

My friends had a three year old who was into that song and he asked me what a sexy lady was. I panicked and told him Psy was really saying “hey, sixty ladies.”

I love having access to all that information—really empowering.

It’s been historically difficult for Seattle to host a festival for various reasons, but I think the aim has always been a little too high—“we need a big national headliner, we need to fill Benaroya Hall”—when instead we should just celebrate what we have as broadly as possible.
