I have a cure for Spain's "migrant crisis" in Ceuta: give your colony in Africa back to Morocco. Then you don't have to worry about people swimming around a fence and ending up in your country.

Sigh. Successive governments' refusal to invest in the things that would improve the economy is one of the reasons we continue to stagnate.
Also, while we're at it, people saying "you made deliberate choices and you'll be able to explain why, which will prove you're not AI". Yeah, no. I don't even remember the names of some characters in some of my books. I know it all when I'm writing, but when I move to the next book? It's flushed.
Patrick Samphire 🏴I've said it before, and no doubt I'll say it again: I do not use generative AI. The whole idea is anathema to me. I wrote and published before it existed and I'll do so when it's gone to the same place NFTs went. But I have no intention of "proving" I don't use it. 1/

Thomas Hai think people advising that authors are going to be ok because they can explain their creative choices better than a slopper are coming from a good place (and prob mostly right!). but boy do i hate the presumption that writers have to rationally talk through the minutiae of their creative choices.
If you're using generative AI for your science communication, you're not a science communicator. You're a slop merchant. I like Hank Green, but I don't have faith in what he produces anymore.
A. K. VenrinnOmg not Hank Green using AI for research and calling to his “bad habit” 💀😭🤡
I'm seeing a fair amount of push-back on this stance from Amnesty supporters. It basically goes, Amnesty had no choice. They had to give in to the billionaire. If they'd fought, they would have gone bust. Friends, I don't agree. 1/
Patrick Samphire 🏴@amnestyuk.bsky.social have decided to grovel to threats made by JK Rowling and so abandon trans people. I have supported Amnesty for many, many years, but no longer. If you don't support rights for all, you don't support rights for anyone. But I'm not a billionaire, so they probably don't care.

‘It’s alright for them’: private schools and golf courses stay green despite England’s hosepipe bans
So, is this just another way of training AI, by making people identify what they recognise as AI?
Tits McGeeOh my God, this is not a drill - LinkedIn has added 'seems like AI slop' as an option on posts Genuinely thought it was a joke until I clicked on a few posts
