But I've sometimes flagged p<.1 when it made sense to me to do it. My thinking is you should use professional judgment and not treat an LLM as an expert.

Customs vary by field and also by how weak small the sample is and how unstable the findings are and whether you want to interpret that marginal result or ignore it. FWIW flagging p<.1 is pretty uncommon these days in the journals I read; Stata default is what I'm used to seeing across the board.

fwiw some of the replies are about concerns about group daycare and others are more like you, so I don't think everybody is using the term "babysitting " in the same way.

I don't know what current parents of young children are doing. In the 1980s-90s, I used "babysitters" much less than my stay-at-home mother did in the 1950s, but my kids were in group child care during the day. Total child care time is different from "babysitting."

Are you counting group day care as babysitting or not?

BTW my reading of the "consequences" lit is that the responses to BLM were mixed, producing reforms in some places or policy arenas (at least temporarily) and backlash in others. This is probably the most common situation in the wake of a big contentious movement with well-established opponents.

LOL. I have even written two papers about it, one a term paper in college and another I published about the citations to my own work. The latter a humbling experience. Bad citations predate LLMs. You have to learn to check the originals.

You may already know this 2015 book (I read it recently) but the big take-home is that nonviolent protesters in the CRM were unarmed, but were often defended by armed people. Division of labor. Black Southerners used weapons defensively. MLK had a gun. Rosa Parks believed in self-defense.
