A socialist Welsh Woke person living in England who hopes that we will soon rejoin the EU. Also 100% green (well maybe 95% because I do have a car, but these days I drive less than a 1000 miles per year).

What hogwash. All moving things make noise. They may make less noise than one of the more traditional windmills, but they will still make noise.

The UK is one of the few countries in the world that has trial by jury. Personally I fail to see how justice can be done using 12 untrained, unqualified, unaccountable, inexperience, conscripts. We need to replace the amateurs with professional juries.

"Andy Burnham’s “pausing” of the Starmer gov's prisoner release scheme ..., are disasters. They indicate a Downing Street that puts populism ahead of policy." Burnham's rushed first 48 hours decisions are attracting more and more scrutiny. It seems Manchesterism isn't the miracle cure after all.

Will Burnham fix our barbaric prisons – or cave to rightwing populism? The answer is a tragedy | Simon Jenkins

Is sounds like a great idea (though I'd wait until the old dear is actually dead). I've no idea why people think they should be entitled to their parents property, especially if they've not helped them earn it.

CONCACAF said in a statement that it has rejected the proposals after an emergency meeting with its member associations, though it seems to be more nuanced than UEFA's stance. They say they want more time to properly analyse the plans before they can commit to them.

A poll on the Irish news site thejournal.ie asked, "Should TDs* be allowed to use AI to write parliamentary questions?" About a quarter of the respondents did NOT SAY NO. WTF! We all hate politicians, but aren't they infinitely better than AI? (*A TD is roughly equivalent to a British MP)

Why? I find it nice to know that even a very large plane can glide and hopefully find a safe place to land, though I do admit that the human failing behind these planes running out of fuel isn't something to dwell on.

What is this Soccer thing that you refer to, and would the world series be like the one in baseball in which only the yanks compete? 😆

Call me cynical, but if FIFA can privatise the World Cup, then UEFA will not be able to stop a European super-league, so it's in UEFA's interest to oppose Infantino's plans.

There are 211 members in FIFA, of which only 55 of them are UEFA, so the rest could yet vote through Infantino's plan, but that said, a World Cup without Europe would be an abject failure.
